Arctic

Journey along the Northwest Passage

Be one of the very few people who have travelled through this infamous and altogether fascinating passageway. You'll follow in the footsteps of early explorers who fought for 200 years to find a short route to the riches of Asia. The voyage begins in the High Arctic and journeys through the Canadian Arctic archipelago, stopping at historic sites along the way. Recent years have seen a gradual easing of summer pack ice conditions, but there is no question this remains a landscape where nature reigns supreme, and we will go only where the ice permits. We only recommend this expedition to our most adventurous guests!

Itinerary Highlights:
Resolute Bay, considered by some as "The Serengeti of the Arctic", this area is rich in narwhals, belugas, bowheads, walrus, polar bears and a wide variety of birds, all feeding on the 30,000 tons of Arctic cod known to exist there. Bellot Strait - icebergs and the northernmost point of North America. Prince Leopold Island - Migratory Bird Sanctuary - thick-billed murres, northern fulmars and black - legged kittiwakes.
