


Papua New Guinea is truly one of the last great wild places on Earth. With vast tracts of jungle and forest as well as coastline, it’s a haven for wildlife, birds and aquatic life as well as an abundance of fauna. The There are kangaroos that climb trees, trees that provide food, shelter and transportation and Birds of Paradise that are some of the strangest and most colourful creatures you will ever see. Given its proximity to Australia, Singapore and New Zealand you could easily assume that Papua New Guinea has been developed or opened up, but it was only in the 1930’s that the first whites went into the Highlands. A 2009 scientific expedition into a volcanic crater found over 40 previously unidentified species and the country still boasts over 800 unique languages.
